Shoreblock® BD is the most durable, effective and environmentally-friendly, erosion control revetment method of fighting severe erosion problems. Shoreblock BD represents the most advanced, flexible, permeable and versatile system in the erosion control industry. The interlocking design and quality manufacturing results in outstanding performance and reliability under the most demanding hydraulic loading conditions. The interlocking units and corrosion resistant cables allow the Shoreblock BD system to articulate with unequaled strength and stability. This stability is important on channel bends or curves where angle or wedge mattresses are used. Cable connections between angle mattresses and adjacent mattresses ensure continuous strength throughout the entire revetment system. This unique feature provides the system integrity necessary for a virtually maintance-free revegetative surface.
Shoreblock BD Units are manufactured in accordance with ASTM C90, D6684-04 and C140 and the following criteria:
- Concrete Unit Weight 130-150 lbs./CF
- Minimum Compression Strength 4,000 PSI
- Maximum Absorption 7%
- Dimensional Tolerance +/- 1/8"
- Galvanized or Polyester Cabling

Shoreblock BD Performance
The Shoreblock BD cabled concrete erosion control revetment system has been proven in the laboratory and the field as a technical and economical improvement over traditional forms of erosion control. By virtue of their large unit mass and bi-directional corrosion resistant cables, Shoreblock BD mattresses provide an easily constructed, durable, flexible, and permeable erosion protection system.
The Shoreblock BD system was developed to provide a superior armored surface for long-term erosion control. SHOREBLOCK® mattresses are placed on geotextile fabric, which provides soil retention, as well as permeability, through the revetment system. The interlocking units and bi-directional corrosion resistant cables allow the Shoreblock BD system to articulate with unequaled strength and stability. Lateral cable connections between adjacent mattresses ensure continuous strength throughout the entire revetment system. This unique feature provides the system integrity necessary for maintenance-free long-term erosion protection.
Upon complete assembly, the Shoreblock BD mats can be stockpiled or loaded on flatbed trucks or barges for shipment to the job site.
